Saw this 1926, 9 hole Tom Bendelow designed course 45 minutes away and decided go play this morning. He designed my home course Cascades GC in 1929 and I can see the familiar design pattern throughout the course. The 90 years of Country Club roots are still in place here with the maintenance/conditions/staff since going Public a few years back. They have a mix of five (5) tees from 3,310yds / 36.5 / 125 down to 2,525yds / 33.0 / 120 on this Par 36 Links style layout, so you can pick your comfort level of play. There are no forced carries so that relaxes you on the tee boxes. I played the Black tees and found the yardage on some hole was longer (50yds on #6) than the score card indicated. The #2 hole 375yd Dogleg left Par 4 requires a 240yd drive to get past the corner trees from the tips to see the green. You'll find good manicured fairways/traps/greens where you land on them and no real surprises when hitting. The #6 460yd Par 4 was playing 510yds from the Blacks (7hcp) and I would have put it being #1hcp based on the wind we had today. This was a great conditioned course for the $15 9w/cart (2hrs) and shooting 40 w/17putts. I look forward to returning and playing a full 18 holes and bring some of my Senior friends.
Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
Condition of Course, Price, Pace of Play, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Layout, No Houses on Course, Clubhouse
